I'm using Dissertation Camp to start working on an article based on one of my dissertation chapters. I have a chapter in mind and today I was looking at some related literature published in the journal I plan to submit to. My goal for today was to review a few journal articles.
I met my goal, broadly speaking, but didn't do a truly close reading of any of the articles. More skimming, looking at breadth and types of sources engaged with, how the articles were contextualized, etc. Along with this I pulled together a few other articles and books I need to read, which are related to my topic. Just a "getting my feet wet" kind of day.
Thanks for leading us in our breakout group! Nice work on day 1! I imagine that, when I finish my dissertation, I will struggle to have any willpower to write! I am going to turn to you as an example of someone who doesn't simply coast after defense.
